Historical Places in Gilgit Baltistan

*Karakoram Highway

Karakoram Highway

The Karakoram Highway (informally known as the KKH) is the world's highest paved international road.

That's the way to heaven - if you want to explore the mountains, that's it. It is considered to be one of the toughest alpine climbs in the world.

The Karakoram Highway was completed

Drive with caution as this is a mountain road with hairpin curves and dangerous drops. If you have passengers who do not like heights, you may want to consider a good win degree. The Karakoram Highway connects China and Pakistan across the Karakoram Range, via the Khanjarab, at 4,693 meters (15,397 feet) above sea level. The road is a terrifying and hairy jeep journey in the world. During the construction of the highway, 810 Pakistani and 82 Chinese workers lost their lives, mostly due to landslides. The KKH route traces one of the many routes along the ancient Silk Road. The length of this road is 1,300 km (800 miles): Pakistan: 887 km (551 miles) and China: 413 km (257 miles). Was completed.

The Karakoram Highway is an amazing road

The road is mostly asphalt. This is a real challenging road and a real test of your vehicle and your abilities as this road turns and turns the wheels which sometimes hangs over the mountains. The most paved international road on the planet does not come without its dangers. This road is very treacherous and it needs a vehicle that can compete against some unforgivable regions of the world. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls, and landslides can occur at any time and can sometimes block parts of the road. It makes a popular tourist destination when you see the incredible view of the 2, but the 800-mile highway is a nightmare for those suffering from altitude sickness. On the one hand there is no barrier at all, and on the other hand the scissor rock wall, the margin of driver error is quite thin. To make matters worse, the area is at risk of flooding and landslides.
